Bonnie Wright, Helena Bonham Carter, and Jim Broadbent, alumni actors from the Harry Potter film series, have been spotted attending Harry Potter and the Cursed Child!

More from Culturess

As Harry Potter and the Cursed Child continues its initial run, more Harry Potter movie alumni are showing up to see what happens to the series hero later in life at the Palace Theatre. There should be some sort of bingo game associated with watching to see who goes to the play! (So far though no sign of Rupert Grint or Daniel Radcliffe, but surely that will eventually change.)

This time it was Bonnie Wright of Ginny Weasley fame and Helena Bonham Carter who was the evil Bellatrix Lestrange who both showed up in the audience on the same evening. For Wright, this was a chance to check out how her character turned out 19 years later in real life (instead of all that terrible aging make up the movie did to her back in the day.) For Bonham Carter it was a chance to check out the big twist that her character was a major part of before she was killed by Molly Weasley at the end of the series.

From their smiling pics with the crew, it seems like they enjoyed the show!

This was confirmed by SnitchSeeker who happened to have someone in the audience that was lucky enough to happen to be sitting in the 6th row right behind Bonham Carter. Reporter Milo politely asked Professor Lestrange about the play:

"“The actress said the show was great, was surprised at how close the production came to the audience, and pleased with how much it stayed in line with the Harry Potter story line. She admitted she did not know what to expect, and was content that fans had been keeping the secrets of the production the entire time.”"

It’s like seeing double! She seems to have aged quite well.

Also on the same evening performance, Sir Michael John Gambon, aka our beloved Albus Dumbledore, was seen in the audience. Gambon has been supportive of the casting of Noma Dumezweni, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that he would go see the production. Unfortunately nobody seems to have gotten a photo. I carefully confirmed this with a search on Twitter that reminded me gambon is another word for shrimp, so I can also confirm that there were no photos of shrimp attending Cursed Child either.

Also spotted showing some live Potter acting appreciation was Jim Broadbent who played the potions teacher and head of Slytherin House at Hogwarts, Professor Horace E. F. Slughorn, in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.

We’ll be sure to see additional Potter star power in the audience seating as Cursed Child continues its run in London.
