Pottermania is everywhere, from birth, to birthdays to….dining. First up, from Buzzfeed, we get the scoop on the most adorable Harry Potter themed newborn portrait ever! Katherine and Jesse Oldfield are physically located in Oregon, but the couple’s hearts are obviously in the world of Harry Potter. On their first Halloween together, they dressed as Harry and Hermione. Luckily they kept those costumes handy for when their family expanded.

When their first child was 8 months old, a friend helped with a portrait sitting at a graveyard using some of the Harry Potter props for some terrifically cute photos. Definitely hard to top, but a few years later with a second son they came up with another terrific idea for a new Potteresque portrait, a mandrake pot with the baby inside. The adorableness level reached epic heights when baby Theodore decided he didn’t like being in the photoshoot. It was a magical moment captured on film when older brother Sebastian, in a handsome Harry outfit, was not amused by this turn of events. Katherine commented on the wizardry of the scene:

"“Sebastian’s reaction to his baby brother was completely authentic, which is a big part of the magic captured in this photo.”"

And now for another Potterhead family, this time across the pond. Charlotte Kyriakou and her partner Andrew spent 18 months transforming their dining room using Hogwarts styled interior design magic. Much of the time was spent sourcing actual film props and other wizarding accoutrements for their home.

Located in an unassuming looking house in Shrewsbury, it’s a surprise to see the Great Hall of Hogwarts in smaller form. Stepping into the room is stepping into another world with wood paneled walls and stone floor. The long wooden dining table is capped at both ends by majestic tall backed chairs and off to the side Dobby sits on a footstool in front of an ornate chair where the family’s Sorting Hat reigns.

The details truly impress, from an owl to wanted wizard posters to wands to a potion kit. Original movie props like a letter from the first film are displayed in a glass fronted case. Hogwarts house banners adorn the top of one wall, completing the scene. The Daily Mail gives a breakdown of the £13,004.72 (that’s a little over $17,000) spent on decorating the room:

"Limestone floor = £4,000Fake stone walls = £3,500Table and chairs = £2,000Log burner = £2,000Witch in dome prop = £350Letter prop = £200Suit of arms = £200iPad = £219Trunks = £200Flags = £60Crest above log burner = £50Robes from Sainsbury’s = £41.97Sorting hat = £26.95Hedwig = £25.95Wands = £80.85Dobby = £50"

You might wonder what a thoroughly modern iPad is doing on the list. Charlotte loaded photos of the children riding broomsticks and mounted it on the wall as a recreating of moving pictures. She commented on their love for their muggle house’s magical room:

"“Blood, sweat and tears have gone into this room. I did suggest to Andrew that we could do with an extra bedroom, but we can’t move and leave that room. I don’t know what we’d do.”"

And finally, Kate Hudson was joined by her ex Matthew Bellamy, of Muse singer fame, during a family fun-filled birthday celebration for their 5-year old son Bing (short for Bingham). Along with Hudson’s son Kyle, the family took the lucky, but shy birthday boy to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child where Bellamy Instagrammed a family selfie. They make a good looking Potterhead family.
