Disney unveils teaser trailer for Hocus Pocus 2

The Spooky Season is coming sooner than we think.  Walt Disney Pictures unveiled the official teaser trailer for Hocus Pocus 2.  In the trailer, the Sanderson Sisters make their comeback after being “dead” for nearly three decades.  This time around, the witches pay their revenge in modern times, terrorizing the city of Salem.

It is worth mentioning that Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker will be returning as their respective characters, Winifred, Mary, and Sarah.  Binx, the adorable black cat, will also be prowling around.

In the film’s narrative, three high school girls summon a spell that unintentionally resurrects the witches, causing the Salem residents to experience their treachery again.  There is hope, though.  While the outlook looks grim, the girls work together to try to stop the Sandersons before the sunrise on Halloween.

In between that, though, the Witches take advantage of exploring 21st-century Salem (they even attend a drag show!), which is not much different than 1993 but unrecognizable from 1693, when the witch trials took place.

And Winnie, Mary, and Sarah did some evil black magic back then.

Disney also released the Hocus Pocus 2 synopsis and the key artwork poster.

The Synopsis

"It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century sisters, and they are looking for revenge. Now it is up to three high-school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve."

Hocus Pocus 2 is directed by Anne Fletcher and stars Lilia Buckingham, Belissa Escobedo, and Whitney Peak, along with Doug Jones reprising his role as Billy the Zombie.  Others in the cast include Tony Hale, Hannah Waddingham, Sam Richardson, and an appearance by a drag queen. Ginger Minj.

The spellcasting of Hocus Pocus 2 will begin on September 30th and will air exclusively on Disney+.
