WOW! Did I learn so much from Hilary Duff’s latest interview promoting How I Met Your Father? I was the biggest Younger fan and when the show wrapped with the potential of a spinoff that never came to be, it was sad to see that the latest project from the star every millennial kid grew up with was long gone. Fans may remember that the reboot was canceled in May 2021 after only three short weeks of filming when Disney and Hilary Duff did not see eye to eye on the state of where Lizzie McGuire’s life was at the age of thirty. Now, Hilary is revealing what was supposed to happen with the show.

The Lizzie McGuire reboot that never came to be

Now, Hilary is starring in a role that she credits to being very similar to Lizzie McGuire. When speaking to Cosmo, she mentioned that Sophie, her character in How I Met Your Mother is in the process of finding herself. That is how she originally found herself on Lizzie McGuire.

When speaking on what would have been of Lizzie McGuire on the new revival, however, she said that fans would have found her living back home with her parents after her soon-to-be fiance cheated on her.

Although she is hopeful for the show to make a return somewhere along the line in the far future, Hilary told the publication that she is happy for the time that she had revisited her past character. As a fan, any version of the show would have been great, but for now, we’ll watch Hilary on the new How I Met Your Mother.
