Suicide Squad member: Mongal

Mayling Ng will portray Mongal, an orange alien with a penchant for mass destruction. The daughter of another supervillain, Mongul, this warrior is also not included in a lot of the promotion for the film.

Her first appearance in comics was actually an unnamed cameo in Showcase ’95 #8 from, you guessed it, 1995. Her first named appearance was in Superman (vol. 2) #170 in 2003. Since then the character has remained a fairly minor one. Most of her appearances surround her actions with her brother, Mongul II.

Sadly, I don’t think we’re going to see much action from her, despite her really cool weapons. Which is a shame because I would’ve loved to see her enact some crazy carnage. I think Gunn will build her up into this unfeeling killing machine only to have her kick the bucket in a super goofy way.
