On the 12th Date of Christmas

Cast: Mallory Jansen, Tyler Hynes

Year: 2020

Hallmark Channel Christmas movies always feature people who have wonderfully interesting jobs, but On the 12th Date of Christmas features something different: Game designers. In this case Jennifer (Mallory Jansen) and Aidan (Tyler Hynes) are paired together to create an innovative and interactive scavenger hunt for the Devonshire Hotel in Chicago. It’s the holidays and the theme is “12 Days of Christmas” so the duo creates an adventure full of all the things people love to do in the city for the holidays.

Not only are they working to impress the hotel, they’re also trying to land a big promotion and the competition is stiff. Though they have different approaches, they actually work very well together. As they move through the various stages of the game they’re designing, they’re also spending lots of time together and realizing that there’s some chemistry between them.

With the promotion dangling over their heads, they both have reasons why they need the job and they’re not willing to sacrifice it, but they can’t deny their feelings for each other. Can they find a way to make it work?

On the 12th Date of Christmas is fun because Aidan and Jennifer are doing these wonderful activities commonly enjoyed by couples, but they’re blissfully unaware of how much they enjoy each other’s company. Watching them slowly fall for each other is part of this movie’s incredible charm.
