Alaskan holiday movies are very special because there’s an allure and element of magic to the land and the location. Christmas Under Wraps features Candace Cameron Bure as Dr. Lauren Brunell, a talented doctor who is in her third year of surgical residency when she follows her father’s footsteps and accepts a fellowship. When she lands on the waitlist, she ends up in Garland, Alaska, where she becomes the town’s temporary doctor while she waits to hear about her fellowship.

Lauren is immediately struck by the charming town and the lovely people who live there. Local Andy (David O’Donnell) is there to help her settle into life in Alaska, but he’s evasive when it comes to the odd things she sees when she’s out and about. She notices that the town revolves around the shipping company run by Andy’s father, Frank (Brian Doyle-Murray) and soon she’s caught up in the mystery as she works to uncover the secrets of his operation. Between the reindeer, cookies and ability to obtain anything she needs, in addition to the cold weather and proximity to the North Pole, well, there’s definitely something happening.

Lauren is torn when she has to make a decision about her future: Remain in Garland or accept the fellowship. Hopefully she follows her heart and makes the decision she knows she wants to make.
