Write Before Christmas

Cast: Torrey DeVitto, Chad Michael Murray, Lolita Davidovich, Grant Show, Drew Seeley

Year: 2019

Christmas breakups are another theme for Hallmark Channel Christmas movies, but the unexpected heartbreak always leads to good things. In Write Before Christmas, Jessica (Torrey DeVitto) breaks up with her boyfriend so she decides to pay things forward and send Christmas cards to people in her life who inspired her. The cards end up creating magic in the lives of people who get them. From new romance to forgotten inspiration, the cards work their magic in time for the holidays.

One of the cards ends up at her old music teacher’s house, but she’s out of town. Her son Luke (Chad Michael Murray) reads it and ends up meeting with Jessica to present her mother’s gift to her – a vintage cello. Their meeting sparks a romance that comes out of the blue. Like so many things in life, their relationship isn’t without complications, but it’s the journey of working through those problems that make this such a beautiful story.

Write Before Christmas offers a reminder that while breakups are hard, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and finding ways to express gratitude can often yield wonderful – and magic – surprises.
