Manifest season 3 premiere live stream: Watch online
By Lacy Baugher
NBC’s twisty puzzlebox drama Manifest officially returns for a third season this week and, if its promotional materials are anything to go by, may finally start giving viewers some concrete information about its central mystery.
Manifest follows the story of a group of passengers onboard Flight 828, which disappeared on the way back to New York from Jamaica and was presumed lost. Mysteriously the plane – and all its passengers – suddenly reappeared five years later. But for those aboard no additional time had passed. Thus far, no one has been able to explain what happened to the plane or how its passengers are still alive.
As the Flight 828 survivors struggle to understand what happened to them, the story expands to include everything from government conspiracies to potential time travel. And season 2 ended on a wild series of cliffhangers, including several that very well may upend the world of the show as we know it.
The season 3 trailer promises that viewers will (finally) find out for sure what happened to Flight 828, and why a completely separate piece of tail wreckage exists when the survivors were all on a plane that landed – and later exploded.
In the trailer, we see Ben not only seeing the existing wreckage for himself but actually questioning whether all the 828-ers actually died on the flight. (A fan theory that has been floated for some time – thanks for making us all so untrusting, Lost.)
Elsewhere, Zeke is trying to figure out what to do with the second chance he’s been given – even if the answer to the question of how he managed to survive his Death Date is very unclear.
In short: Season 3 has a lot of questions to answer. And hopefully, the premiere will finally start to give us some.
You can watch the first five minutes of the premiere right now, which shows us Ben in Cuba where he has tracked down the newly surfaced tailfin and Zeke and Michaela apparently on their honeymoon.
