When it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s never say never. Though Gwyneth Paltrow might not be front-lining a feature film in the MCU, she’s not opposed to a small Marvel role if the timing – and conditions – were right.

Paltrow has appeared in seven Marvel movies over the years, from the Iron Man trilogy to three Avengers movies and an appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

These days, Paltrow is content to focus on her health and wellness company, Goop, which has taken off in recent years thanks to Paltrow’s keen marketing ability and a Netflix documentary. Though she’s not actively seeking new roles, she’s not giving up acting either.

With her thriving business, she has the ability to make decisions that weren’t possible before, so if she’s going to take on a movie it has to be on her terms.

Gwyneth Paltrow would return to Marvel if the conditions were right

During an appearance on People TV, when asked if she would return for a Marvel project, the actor said that she would “if it was a small part that I could do in like a day or two.”

There’s a lot of weight in this statement, because if Paltrow were to return in an Iron Man suit then she would only need to do a few shots of her face, and then the rest of it would be her voice. She doesn’t need to be present for the voice work, either.

Given Marvel’s foray into limited series on Disney+, it’s possible that Pepper Potts could make a return in a future series, or she could show up in the middle of the Multiverse in the upcoming Doctor Strange movie.

The good news is that Paltrow isn’t closing the door on Marvel movies and if the right opportunity came along, within the right parameters, it means that she could show up in a movie or a limited series in the future.
