The first footage of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier dropped during Disney Investor Day, and it shows a world “upside down” after Avengers: Endgame.

Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was supposed to arrive this summer, but COVID-related delays brought that plan to a grinding halt. After the actors returned to filming, though, it was only a matter of time until fans got an update. And Disney Investor Day delivered the first footage of the upcoming Disney+ series, showing fans exactly what Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes are up against after Avengers: Endgame.

An elderly Steve Rogers may have left his legacy in Sam’s hands, but the first look at the series shows a more complicated situation, depicting what Bucky describes as the world being “upside down.” Bucky emphasizes that “people need something to get behind” in the footage, but Sam may have to show them that he can play that part.

And from the looks of it, Sam’s Captain America may be quite a bit different from Steve’s. Luckily, they both have one thing in common: their banter-filled, comical relationship with Bucky. And that dynamic promises to push the show forward in the new footage, which highlights some amusing back and forth between our main characters.

The duo will also have to contend with Wyatt Russell’s U.S. Agent, whom the U.S. government is tasking with being the new Captain America, as well as what looks like a gang of mask-wearing criminals leaving destruction in their wake.

The end of the trailer also confirmed the new premiere date for the Disney+ series: March 19, 2021. We’ve only got a few months before we see our boys back in action! (Thank goodness.)
