December brings new free games for PlayStation Plus members. And with a new console, we’ve got an additional offering this month, too!

PlayStation Plus members are in for a great treat in December. Because of the launch of the PS5, we have an additional free offering this month, just in time for the upcoming holiday break!

Here are your free games for the month of December:

  • Worms Rumble
  • Just Cause 4
  • Rocket Arena

Watch the official announcement trailer from Sony here:

First up is Worms Rumble, which is a brand new release for both the PS5 and PS4. Much like Fall Guys a few months back, this one is coming out for PS Plus members on its release day. It’s very much a battle royale-style game…with worms. Which sounds ridiculous and is probably worth checking out.

Just Cause 4 is the latest in the Just Cause franchise, which released in 2018. Play as Rico Rodriguez and try to take down the Black Hand in the fictional nation of Solis. It’s an open world action-adventure game, and it really has mixed reviews. There’s some humor and fun in the plot, but honestly, it’s pretty much a grind fest that doesn’t always feel like it’s part of the franchise.

Lastly, we have Rocket Arena. It’s a 3v3 shooter that released this past July. It’s also had very mixed reviews. If you’re interested in well-designed maps and pretty fun weapons and abilities for the characters and don’t have super high standards for a 3v3 game, this one’s probably worth it to try this month. Also no, this is not Rocket League.

As a reminder, if you have a PS5 and are an active PS Plus member, you also have access to Bugsnax through January 4. I played through it and if you loved Pokemon Snap on the N64, you’ll have fun with Bugsnax.

Here's why we're excited about the PS5. dark. Next

On top of all of these great offerings, there’s a free online multiplayer weekend for non-PS Plus subscribers coming up! That’s right, on December 19 and 20, you’ll have temporary access to online features for free.
