HBO’s Westworld returns after nearly two years, as Season 3 finds Dolores and several other hosts now living in our reality. Here’s how to watch online.

Bring yourself back online, Westworld fans. It’s finally time.

Yes, it’s true. After nearly two years of waiting, we’re heading back to HBO’s rich, immersive world of sentient hosts, twisty timelines, and shocking revelations. And it certainly seems as though things will get even stranger and more confusing before long.

Because we’re no longer going to be in the created realities of Delos parks – no, Westworld is moving into the real world. Season 3 will pick up where season 2 left off, with several hosts – namely Dolores, but also Bernard and several additional unidentified figures – in the real world.

What happens next – will the hosts attempt to destroy humanity? Take over themselves? (It’s not like we humans haven’t already assembled piles of our data for them to exploit already.) Or something else entirely?

We don’t know. But that’s surely going to be half the fun of finding out.

The season 3 premiere is titled “Parce Domine,” which is Latin for “Spare your people, Lord”.  (Not for nothing, it also the title of a hymn sung during the penitential season of Lent.) Who exactly is who in this scenario? Are the hosts the gods? Or are humans? Who exactly needs – or is performing – penance?

Westworld has always been known for its…let’s just say, adventurous approach to storytelling, so who knows where season 3 might take us. Besides the whole “hosts in the real world” angle, Maeve is apparently back online and – if the trailer is anything to go by – in a previously unseen Delos park known as Warworld. Some version of The Man in Black is clearly going to be part of the story, though it’s not clear whether it will be his host or human self. And Aaron Paul’s new character Caleb seems destined for a significant role.
