Only Mostly Devastated by Sophie Gonzales

If you’re a fan of Grease then Only Mostly Devastated by Sophie Gonzales is the book for you. Ollie and Will had some summer lovin’ in North Carolina that was a blast, but it ended — as most seasonal romances do — as soon as it was time to go back to school. Or at least that’s what the boys thought, but when Ollie’s aunt’s condition gets worse, he and his family stay to help her.

Now that he’s staying, Ollie is hoping that he and Will can have a deeper — less seasonal, more lasting — relationship, but those hopes are dashed when he gets a taste of who Will is to his classmates at Collinswood High.

Will is a jock, which shouldn’t be synonymous with jerk, but the sweet and affectionate guy Ollie caught feelings for over the summer is not the basketball player that Ollie meets at a school party.

For Will, the summer was a chance to be himself. Ollie was a big, wonderful part of that chance, but when the summer ended, Will let that part of his life fall back so his true reality could step forward. But with Ollie attending his school now, Will has to decide if he’s willing to give up a chance with him in order to keep things how they are at school. It’s his heart or the closet, and with his friendships on the line, Will isn’t sure which to pick even though he knows Ollie would be worth the risk.

Only Mostly Devastated is available now in print and e-format.
