February might be the month for romance, but that won’t stop SFF fans from reading the latest science-fiction and fantasy releases this month.

With Valentine’s Day approaching, readers might be tempted to pick up the latest romance novels in the month of February — and with so many great picks, who could blame them? But fans of science-fiction and fantasy are bound to gravitate back toward those genres eventually, and there are plenty of exciting February releases waiting to greet them when they do.

New SFF releases for this month range from adult novels to YA ones, and there’s a mixture of debuts, sequels, standalones, and beginnings of series to choose from. Those looking for new authors to enjoy have plenty of options in February, ranging from A.K. Larkwood, to Kim Smejkal, to Alechia Dow.

Of course, there are series being continued as well, including Libba Bray’s Diviners, which will see its final installment later this month. C.L. Polk is also continung an already-loved story, while R.W.W. Greene is making the transition from story collections to long-form novels.

Those are just a few of the highlights from February’s SFF lineup. If one thing is certain, readers have plenty of new novels to snuggle up with on Valentine’s Day and after. (And let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want to spend their Valentine’s Day with a dragon or an alien?)

Here are 10 of the most interesting SFF releases hitting shelves this month.
