According to Bravo, this week’s Project Runway episode, “Sheer Genius,” features the following:
"“The designers realize that the challenges only get harder the longer they survive the competition when they’re faced with the hardest yet: a one-day challenge using some of the toughest textiles: sexy, sheer fabrics. As the challenges get more challenging, the competition heats up and just staying in the game becomes more and more difficult for several designers who are reaching their personal limits and question their ability to make it to the end.”"
Looking at the design challenge, a sheer fabric will put the fashion designers’ skills to the test. This fabric might be quite unforgiving.
Additionally, the designers need to ensure that the models’ modesty isn’t compromised. While many fashion runways accept the see-through look, those impressions are frowned upon in this Bravo fashion show.
One key to this design challenge is ensuring that the look has an effortless feel. While sheer fabrics can feel flowy, too many layers can feel overworked. Over-manipulating a fabric can be a poor design choice.
After last week’s challenge, Victoria seems to be doubting herself. While she has been the judges’ darling, her appearance in the bottom was a huge hit to her confidence. Based on preview videos, she could feel that the competition is slipping away.
On a similar note, Dayong is feeling the stress, too. As her health continues to be an issue, can she find her way to stay in the competition.
Given all the drama in the workroom, a few designers who have been skirting by could find their way safe again. Maybe all the pot stirring is a secret weapon on the runway.
