Doctor Who season 12 premiere live stream: Watch online
By Lacy Baugher
Doctor Who returns after a year away for Jodie Whittaker’s second season in the TARDIS. Here’s everything you need to know to watch online and not miss a minute.
The new season of Doctor Who is finally here! Yes, after a year away – technically more than that if you don’t want to count the fact that the last episode we saw was a one-off holiday installment – Jodie Whittaker is finally back for her second run in the TARDIS.
It’ll certainly be interesting to see how the show – and Thirteen – evolves during Whittaker’s second season, now that the novelty of the series’ introducing its first female Doctor has passed. (Obviously, this isn’t to say that the continued presence of the Thirteenth Doctor isn’t significant. It certainly is. But now that there’s already been one for a year, not everything has to be a reaction to the fact of her existence, if that makes sense.)
We don’t know much about season 12 going in. This isn’t that weird, given that showrunner Chris Chibnall was similarly tight lipped about pretty much anything to do with last season as well.
Here’s what we do know: The season 12 premiere will be the first multipart episode of the Chibnall era, and will be entitled “Spyfall, Parts One and Two”. (The first episode will air New Year’s Day, with the second installment on the following Sunday, January 5.)
The story will find a crisis looming for the Doctor (what else is new?), and, if the trailer is anything to go by, will also see some snazzy new outfits for both Thirteen and the rest of Team TARDIS.
