Dispel Illusion by Mark Lawrence

Mark Lawrence’s Dispel Illusion is one of the few SFF books that arrives later in December, bringing his Impossible Times trilogy to a close. And readers looking for a science-fiction story that involves time travel will want to consider this one for their TBR pile, especially if they’ve enjoyed Lawrence’s other works.

In Dispel Illusion, Nick continues to “carve paths through time,” though it isn’t stopping the year 2011 from approaching — and with it, the accident he’s been trying to prevent. But new discoveries while traversing through time may complicate matters — and it’s hard to tell whether it’s for better or for worse. The book’s synopsis says:

"“Then a chance 1992 discovery reveals that this seeker of truth has been lying to himself. But why? It’s a question that haunts him for years. A straw he clings to as his long-awaited fate draws near.”"

Judging by that, Nick is going to have to work through plenty of lies to uncover what’s really going on, and that’s on top of navigating time travel and attempting to stop a terrible future from occurring. The guy’s going to have plenty on his plate, and readers will get to be there for every moment of it. They can find out where Nick’s journey ends when Dispel Illusion releases on December 31.
