This week’s episode of Batwoman will shift the show’s focus back onto Alice — and that doesn’t look like good news for the Kane family.

Batwoman has introduced viewers to plenty of DC villains and storylines, but the show’s primary focus has always been on the Kane family. Having lost Kate’s twin in a tragic car accident — only to discover years later that she’s been alive and become a villain — drives both Kate’s and Jacob’s story arcs forward. And that’s why episodes that focus on the dynamic between these characters are some of the series’ most compelling.

And tonight’s episode, “A Mad Tea-Party,” will have Alice at its center once again. The preview shows that she’s taken Jacob as her prisoner — no doubt as part of her revenge plan — and that she’s doing what she can to prevent Kate from finding him.

Watch the promo trailer for tonight’s episode of Batwoman here:

As you might imagine, this is going to create some friction between the Kane sisters. We get a glimpse at that toward the end of the promo trailer, when Batwoman begins choking Alice. Perhaps Kate has finally lost her patience with her sister’s games… and as much as we adore Alice, we can’t say we blame her.

It also looks like Alice will be paying a visit to Catherine Hamilton, meaning that Kate’s step-family will also be involved in Alice’s vengeance somehow. We know Catherine is partially responsible for Beth’s fate, given that she had her employees lie about finding skull fragments so that Jacob and Kate would move on. For that reason, Alice is sure to have something terrible planned for her. (Let’s just hope she leaves Mary out of it.)

Whatever happens tonight, viewers are in for another action-filled, dramatic installment in the series — and that’s what we keep coming back for, isn’t it?
