“Six or Seven Minutes” (written by Laura Valdivia, directed by Stephen Kay)
It is rare for male leads of a show to die and yet when Max felt out on that dock–and Georgia had to make quick work of that straw with Helen’s help–I was on the edge of my duvet. It’s a marker of talent when a writer can have you wondering, “Is he going to be okay,” for a character you know isn’t going anywhere, so kudos to Laura Valdivia!
“Six or Seven Minutes” is a tight rope walk from the past to the present and Max’s recovery hinges on his ability to let his past go. But this journey through the past also gives the audience a chance to learn more about Georgia and her love story with Max.
For me, it was the first time I connected to Georgia as a character with all her hues and shades on display. And it truly put into perspective just how much Georgia had to share Max with his work throughout their relationship and the toll it took on her.
