The first season of HBO period drama Gentleman Jack concludes tonight. Here’s everything you need to know to watch “Are you still talking?” online.
HBO period drama Gentleman Jack wraps up its first season this week with an episode that looks to deal with both Anne Lister’s flight to Europe and Ann Walker’s deterioration in Scotland.
Will the two women see one another again before season 1 wraps up? Let alone find their way back to each other. Who can say. But, at the moment, it’s not feeling terribly likely.
(Thank goodness this show got a second season, is what I’m saying.)
However, if the episode trailer is anything to go by, it does appear that Lister will at least find herself back in England before the season ends. It appears as though her family has somehow discovered that she put the deeds of Shibden Hall up as collateral in her mining venture – and her father, at least, seems pretty unhappy about it.
(Has something already gone wrong with her mine scheme?)
We also really need to talk about why Lister suddenly looks like a refugee from the Romanov empire (that hat), but maybe it’s a plot point.
Interestingly enough, Anne Walker does not appear in the episode preview, leaving us to wonder what happened after her suicide attempt, and how exactly she may be fairing. (As well as whether anyone bothered to let Lister know what occurred.)
Looks like we’ll have to tune in and find out.
