Harry Potter and its secondary characters: Why the series doesn’t expand on them much

We’re a fun fandom in which we tend to like the side characters that are presented to us so why do we not get to see more of them within the Harry Potter series? Especially in world building pieces?

We all love the character of Harry Potter but, most of us, tend to like the secondary characters a little more. And maybe that’s because they have a level of mystery that Harry didn’t have because they weren’t the protagonist. But whatever the case may be, Harry Potter‘s strength comes in the form of those characters we barely get to spend time with.

Which is why now, as we’re expanding the series, we wish that we had a bit more time with them. They’re wonderful, complicated, and interesting. The problem is that with these world building additions to the Harry Potter series, we’re often confronted with our favorite characters being left out to bring back characters like Dumbledore and McGonagall.

So, what if, instead, the series began to shift to those characters we love most? What if we started to explore what would happen with them in the series? Would it be fun or would we run into the same problem we have currently with the lead characters?

To be honest, who knows and it probably won’t happy any time soon so we might as well just embrace whatever we’re given but it’d still be fun to see some of our old favorites have their time to shine again.

Why not explore these fun characters a bit more? What if we used them to expand the world rather than continually bringing up the characters we’ve already met? It’d be a better move (and then we wouldn’t end up with mistakes).
