20 DCEU villains ranked by sort of scary to absolutely sinister
15. Killer Croc
Suicide Squad gave us a plethora of villains, which is why they keep popping up on this list (and will continue to show up). However, of all the villains we were introduced to in the film, Killer Croc is the one that was just shy of being interesting. There was a lot of potential in his story and if it weren’t were for Amanda Waller we actually wouldn’t know anything about the character.
But, thanks to what we learned, it gave us the glimpse at the potential for Killer Croc. Sadly, we don’t really get much more than what we heard from Waller in terms of his back story and motivations, which is why he is stuck in the 15th spot on this list.
What is sad is the fact that the movie took the time to try to make him seem like a more sympathetic villain, and yet the fact that they never let him show any personality ruins it. It feels like they changed their mind about who Killer Croc was and decided he was better of being a monster-like character who was there to act as fodder for the major villain of the movie.
The fact that he actually survived the battle with Enchantress and her brother means that he ultimately wasn’t expendable. And maybe if he is a part of the future Suicide Squad that is being worked on, we will get more of his story and why we should be sympathetic to him and his plight. But for now, the way they left things, we don’t know enough about Killer Croc to care about him or why he decided that a life of villainy was the way to go.
