Get ready for Brooklyn Nine-Nine to bring on the serial killers as this week’s episode features Jake and Charles investigating a case while Holt fights with Commissioner Kelly again.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been all about help recently. From Jake willingly being the Hitchcock for Captain Holt to the entire precinct ‘distracting’ Terry from his upcoming exam with a Cinco de Mayo heist, the show has been focused on their characters recently. They even found a way to bring Gina Linetti back and, hopefully, that means we’ll see her a little more throughout the series.
So, does that mean we’ll see more helpful detectives in this week’s episode? Most likely not. While Holt’s battle with Commissioner Kelly rages on, Jake and Charles have their own issues to handle when a serial killer comes to town. Not to mention that Terry has to see if he’s going to pass the Lieutenant’s exam!
There is something about this show that works, and maybe that’s the fact that they know when to shift gears. For so long, we’ve been watching each character find their way and work with each other to help in personal ways. So now, for the show to be shifting, apparently, back to cases and pairing up different characters together, it is great to see that they know exactly when it is time to change things up for the audience. That trend seems to continue in the true season finale, “Suicide Squad.”
That’s why we love this show so much: It knows what we want and starts to understand how to give it to us in different ways each season. Is this going to continue throughout season 7? We sure hope so because it makes the show interesting and fun!
