Last week’s episode showed Clarke and her friends discovering the dangers waiting for them on the New World. This week, we’ll finally see who else is living there—and if they pose a threat as well.
During “Red Sun Rising,” Clarke and her friends experienced the horrifying effects of eclipse-induced psychosis on the New World. And while that phenomenon probably poses the greatest threat to the settlers from Earth, the promo for the upcoming episode of The 100 suggests that the people of Sanctum may be a close second.

We know that the characters on The 100 don’t have a great track record when it comes to landing on new planets peacefully, and it seems that Sanctum will be no exception, despite Clarke’s seemingly genuine effort to get off to a good start with the people already living on the New World.
Of course, the leaders of Sanctum have every reason to be skeptical of Clarke and her people during “The Children of Gabriel.” Not only does the teaser show Diyoza and Octavia taking down quite a few newcomers, but it’s also likely to come out that Clarke and the others are only here because they destroyed the last livable valley on Earth—a fact that’s bound to come back to haunt them, especially if those on Sanctum have been waiting to return to their old home.
Let’s hope Clarke and Bellamy can figure out a way to convince the people of Sanctum that their intentions are good, even if they’ve had a rocky past. They really don’t have many other places to go. Of course, Sanctum doesn’t seem like the safest option at this point either…
