We’re in for one legendary show this week. Emma Thompson is hosting Saturday Night Live, and the Jonas Brothers will return as the musical guest.
It’s weird to think this season of Saturday Night Live is almost wrapping up. But SNL wouldn’t let the show end without a bang: legendary actress Emma Thompson will host SNL for the very first time.
This season has been full of great talent, from Jason Momoa to K-pop sensation BTS, but we have to say that Emma Thompson pretty much tops it all. How often do you have a host who has two Oscars, two Golden Globes, and an Emmy? Not many people.
But just because Emma Thompson is basically acting royalty, it doesn’t mean she can’t let loose this weekend and have a little fun with the SNL cast. Already, Thompson starred in a promo for the show with Kate McKinnon — and while Thompson didn’t have too many funny lines herself, she still used her A+ acting skills to add to the hilarity of the situation. We’re also excited to see the Jonas Brothers return to Saturday Night Live again. The boyband had been on hiatus for a moment, but now they’re back, and the old school JoBros fans have awakened. Their performance might not reach BTS levels of enthusiasm, but it’s bound to get all the Jonas fans excited.
This may be wishful thinking, but we’d also love to see Priyanka Chopra and Sophie Turner (wives of Nick and Joe Jonas respectively) make an appearance on the show. Sophie Turner would be especially great, given she’s wrapping up her role as Sansa Stark in this final season of Game of Thrones. And Priyanka Chopra would be amazing to see because, well, she’s Priyanka Chopra.
Then again, we can’t take away the thunder from Emma Thompson. And we’re hoping the sketches this week will be just as great as her acting. To see Thompson and the Jonas Brothers, here’s how you can watch Saturday’s episode:
