Supergirl season 4 episode 20 live stream: Watch online

Kara and Lena inch closer to finding the truth as we approach the end of the season. Here’s how you can catch this week’s episode of Supergirl live.

At long last, a glimmer of light has emerged from the darkness of Supergirl season 4.

The episode “American Dreamer” reached its zenith with Nia Nal revealing herself as an alien, a transgender woman, and member of House Gryffindor in a televised interview with CatCo. Even as the disclosure put her safety at risk by attracting the attention of the Children of Liberty, Nia’s courage was inspiring, providing a rare instance of uplift in a season full of disillusionment. Her declaration that “we are the new day” may or may not have made me cheer out loud.

Of course, we’re not out of the tunnel yet. The country is still under martial law, and Lex Luthor is still on the loose. Tonight’s episode, titled “Will the Real Miss Tessmacher Please Stand Up?”, brings our heroes one step closer to figuring out the super-villain’s plan.

Read the full plot synopsis below, courtesy of The CW:

"MISS TESSMACHER RETURNS WITH A VENGEANCE — Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Lena (Katie McGrath) head to Kaznia to hunt down Lex. However, Eve Tessmacher (guest star Andrea Brooks) sets a trap for the duo that could ultimately reveal that Kara is Supergirl. Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) gets a long-awaited phone call, James (Mehcad Brooks) practices using his powers, and Ben Lockwood (Sam Witwer) takes a dangerous stand inside the DEO."

It feels as though Kara has been on the verge of revealing her superhero identity to Lena for a while. With the two women reconciled, now is as good time as any for the cat to be let out of the bag. But given everything they’ve gone through and everything they’re currently dealing with, it would be best if Kara told Lena of her own accord; I’m not sure I can handle any more drama between them.

With only three episodes left in the season, including this week’s, Supergirl has a lot of plot to wrap up. James is in a particularly precarious position. Unlike his transition to Guardian, James’s PTSD/superpowers arc has been handled with dexterity so far; more than giving him something to do, it has deepened him as a character, revealing new aspects of his personality. Hopefully, his storyline doesn’t get too overwhelmed by the Lex Luthor stuff.

Shannon Kohli directs from a story by Derek Simon and teleplay by Katie Rose Rogers and Natalie Abrams.
