HBO’s new period drama Gentleman Jack continues tonight. Here’s everything you need to know to watch “I Just Went There to Study Anatomy” online.

HBO’s Gentleman Jack, the story of a remarkable real life woman named Ann Lister continues tonight and, now that we know who everyone is, it should bast right into the story.

In last week’s premiere, there was a lot of set up to do. We learned why Anne returned to her family home in Halifax (bad break-up), what made her life so difficult to manage (bullish attitude, occasionally scandalous love of women), and what, exactly her current plans are (run her family’s estate herself, find a wife maybe). That’s a lot to cover in an hour.

Yet, now that all the pieces are on the proverbial board, the fun can really begin.

Even though the series has just started, Anne Lister has a lot of irons in the fire. (That’s clearly why she walks so fast.) It’s not completely clear whether episode 2 will focus primarily on her fascination/flirtation with the lonely heiress up the road, her investigation into her family’s mining interests or something else entirely, but there’s certainly plenty of story to go around.

HBO hasn’t released a specific trailer or synopsis for Gentleman Jack’s second episode, so we really don’t know much about what to expect from it.

But you can get a a look at a few new snippets of footage in this clip, which is also chock full of deserved critical praise for the show.

Gentleman Jack is the product of British writer Sally Wainwright – of Happy Valley fame – who excels at writing complex and unconventional relationships. As the show begins to dive into the relationship between Anne Lister and Anne Walker, that’s a skill that definitely feels as though it will come in handy.
