Jon will betray Daenerys

Despite Jon’s initial reluctance to bend the knee, Jon and Daenerys grow close during the seventh season of Game of Thrones, eventually even developing romantic feelings for one another. And while the two seem like a formidable pair, it’s unclear how either of them will react to the knowledge that Jon is actually Rhaegar Targaryen’s son—and thus the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.

While their shared lineage could benefit them, allowing them to team up against the other houses, it could also create a rift between the two. Daenerys has been fighting for her claim to the throne for seven seasons, and it seems unlikely she’d be willing to simply pass it along to Jon, especially with only Bran’s word that he’s Rhaegar’s son.

In fact, some fans believe that Jon will betray Daenerys to take up his rightful place on the throne. In the A Song of Ice and Fire book series, it is prophesied that Daenerys will experience three betrayals on her quest to take the throne—one for blood, one for gold, and one for love.

On Quora, one fan suggests that Jon will be the final betrayal. While Mirri betrays her for blood and Jorah does so for gold, it seems that either Jon and Tyrion will betray her for love. Both clearly have feelings for her, but Jon will have a greater motive when he realizes that her claim to the throne isn’t legitimate.

Some fans have also suggested that Daenerys might betray Jon after learning the truth about his parentage. However, we’d like to remain optimistic and go for the idea that they could work it out and rule Westeros together…
