The wedding dress

Unsurprisingly, the last look of the year we have to give our focus to is none other than Meghan Markle’s wedding dress, the one she said her vows in. And while many considered her Givenchy gown to be quite simple, it is hard to deny that there was also plenty of elegance to the look.

Designed by Clare Waight Keller, the dress featured the neckline we have come to expect from the Duchess of Sussex, a bateau neck that showed off her shoulders and collarbone. And for the sleeves, the Duchess opted for a three-quarter length. However, while the dress may have been the primary focus, it was the veil that sealed the deal.

The veil, which was 16.5 feet of silk tulle, featured embroidery of flowers representing all 53 countries in the Commonwealth, as well as two more person flowers, one that represented her California roots, and one to represent her new home with Prince Harry.

And no matter what anyone said about the dress, we admit that we loved it. Meghan looked radiant as a bride and clearly had a hand in every detail of what she would wear to marry her prince.

While there were plenty of stunning looks coming from the Duchess of Sussex throughout 2018, these were definitely some of our favorites for a variety of reasons. Now, we can’t wait to see what 2019 brings, and how the iconic duchess continues to change the way we look at fashion and elegance.
