Jake and Amy get married – Brooklyn Nine-Nine

What happened: Brooklyn Nine-Nine is the best at striking a healthy balance between the inane and the poignant. The relationship between Amy and Jake is a pristine example of this sort of situational magic. Throughout five seasons, their romance is full of antics and shenanigans, so it stands to reason their wedding would be too.

Their wedding was set to be traditional, yet an anonymous bomb threat sends their day into upheaval. Of course, they pull it off, having the most Jake and Amy-iest of all ceremonies, complete with Cheddar the Corgi as ring bearer and Captain Raymond Holt officiating.

Why it’s important: Jake and Amy’s wedding signaled the series’ last episode on Fox entirely. In fact, the trajectory of that ill-fated wedding practically predicted how the show would be saved by NBC mere days later. It was mostly thanks to the outcry of fan support, but in the end, the day was saved, just like in the episode.

In a less global analysis, the episode was just downright sweet. Fans have been watching these two for five seasons, so it was more than satisfying to watch them finally come together that way made us have all the collective feels.

How to watch it: The wedding episode is the season 5 finale, but you can watch it all on Hulu before it premieres on its new network in the new year.
