20 of the most cheerful holiday characters ranked
2. Clark Griswold (National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation)
When thinking of the silliest and goofiest cheerful characters for this list, we just have to add Clark Griswold from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. There is hardly a list about the holidays out there that doesn’t mention this man at some point.
Not only is his entire goal to make sure that his family has the best Christmas ever, but he wants to create holiday memories. He wants to remind everyone of what it is like to celebrate the holidays together.
Not only does he head out with his wife and children to cut down the biggest Christmas tree possible, but he also decorates his house to a level that literally causes a blackout. Every single thing that Clark does in order to celebrate the holidays is done to the extreme. He wants everyone to love Christmas just like he does, and when things don’t go his way, you can tell it is heartbreaking for him.
And once he is done flipping out over the failure of the holidays, he is still able to regroup and try to make what remains of Christmas something positive for his family. Basically, it takes a lot for Clark to lose his cheerful disposition, and even when he does, he rallies and gets his holiday love back.
