Melantha and Roy’s relationship

Lommie is seemingly dead, taken over by Cynthia, and the crew has to find their way to the volcryn with her attacking them. With Roy’s physical form dead, Melantha goes into Roy’s special room, and while in there, she discovers that her parents didn’t just donate DNA to help create her.

In fact, Cynthia made her to help Roy run the ship because she is a part of her. What’s bad about this is that Melantha and Roy have had a physical relationship with one another throughout the season. In other words, there’s incest on a George R. R. Martin show yet again. To be fair to both Melantha and Roy, neither knew that they were related at the time; Cynthia held that truth from them and wanted them to just live.

Her ship continues to be a problem for the crew, mainly because Cynthia is controlling their every move; it gets to a point where Karl has to escape on an escape pod into the volcryn by saying that he is going “home.” This leaves Melantha and Rowan still alive and on the ship. They don’t know how to survive, but all Melantha wants to do is understand and escape, now knowing the truth about her mother and, thus, her relationship with her brother, Roy.
