Fantastic Beasts: Why is Grindelwald obsessed with the Dumbledores?
We get it Grindelwald. You love the Dumbledores. But your obsession is a little too much anymore because Credence can’t be a Dumbledore.
Dumbledore started a war for Grindelwald and they still won’t admit they’re in love. They are like ‘brothers’, according to the movie, but then Grindelwald is out here just making up Dumbledores and constantly talking about his friend so like what’s the truth?
For someone who is decidedly not in love with Albus Dumbledore, Gellert Grindelwald sure does love the Dumbledore family. Sure, maybe it is because he sees Albus as a ‘brother’ but then again, I love my best friends dearly but I’m not out here making up siblings to be close to them.
So what’s the truth? Is Credence somehow related to the Dumbledores? Maybe. Do we think he is seriously the long lost brother of Aberforth, Albus, and Ariana? No. No way. Other people can be obscurus, Gellert. It doesn’t instantly make him a Dumbledore because he surpressed his magic.
But then again, this series has never been great at interpersonal relationships. For one, they establish this wonderful friendship between Hermione and Harry and then throw Hermione with Ron and Harry with Ginny without really establishing their feelings for one another. So, are we surprised?
Maybe everything will get sorted out by the next movie. Maybe Grindelwald and Dumbledore will admit that they do, in fact, love each other but don’t hold your breath, it probably won’t happen even if we will it into existence and hope and pray that they are in love.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is in theaters now. See Albus and Gellert make a blood pact even though they’re not in love with each other. Okay, JK.
