The Dark Night
There are many different versions of the DC universe’s Batman that have been released out into Hollywood’s long list of movies. One of the most popular features Christian Bale’s role as the rich superhero in The Dark Knight. This movie not only features a great cast but a great storyline featuring a well-known villain as well. The Joker (played by the late Heath Ledger) arrives in Gotham City and wreaks havoc among the locals. Ledger took the role as The Joker to new heights, doing an incredible job to make his character seem as creepy and unstable as possible.
After capturing the villain and locking him up in a cell, Lieutenant Gordon receives news that he got the job as commissioner, immediately gaining applause from his fellow officers. As the applause begins to die down, there is still one person heard clapping. That someone is was the Joker, who stares the commissioner down through the cell bars, giving him a creepy look.
Heath Ledger came up with the idea himself, hence the look of confusion on the officers’ faces. He wanted to have his character clap from behind bars making the scene a very chilling moment.
