Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark

In the first Indiana Jones movie, Harrison Ford quickly captured our hearts as the handsome, smart, whip-bearing, archaeologist destined for adventure while on the search for treasure in faraway places. These movies are well known for being action-packed and filled with scenes of our hero running away from danger or staying to fight.

In one scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indy and his love interest Marion (played by Karen Allen) are targeted by assassins hired to kill them before they find the Ark of the Covenant. While they were separated, Indy finds himself face to face with one particular assassin wielding a sword. The assassin boasts his ability to use a sword in front of our hero before ultimately being defeated by Indy’s gun.

There was actually supposed to be a full fight scene between Indy and the assassin but that day, Ford was still recovering from food poisoning, and what with the heat being so intense and still not feeling well, he decided to take a shortcut and shoot the assassin, resulting in a very memorable and comedic scene. Little did we know that even Indy had moments where he needed a break.
