A lot of us look forward to watching bloopers when buying our favorite movies. But sometimes, this is totally unnecessary because the bloopers wind up in the film anyway.

Mistakes and off–script moments are bound to happen while filming a movie. These moments become what are widely known as bloopers. Rather than tossing them out, never to be seen again, audiences are luckily able to see a compilation of these moments on a gag reel. Whether they are put at the end of the credits or in the special features on Blu-ray, bloopers are one of the best parts of a movie.

They can be funny and surprising, and audiences get the chance to see another side of the cast that they may have never known existed. A lot of clips feature a behind-the-scenes look at the actors breaking character, scenes where they mess up their lines or make them up, fall over, or purposely act silly.

What people may not realize is that some of their favorite scenes in the final versions of movies happen to be bloopers that were improvised or real moments that actually happened. Sometimes this is because directors and editors don’t spot the mistake, they aren’t able to re-do the scene, or they add to the film in a way that the original script was unable to contribute.

In some instances, actors are able to showcase their creative talent by staying in character thus making their mishaps or improvisations seem more natural to their characters or the scene they are performing. Even the directors themselves have been known to think that these bloopers would be a great addition to the films. Knowing this, our favorite movies become even more special.

We’ve gathered 15 of our favorite movies that kept bloopers in their final versions. They range from mistakes that no one could have predicted to improvised moments that seemed just right to the actors for the scenes they were doing.
