Steve Rogers: Sweet potato casserole
Our good boy from Brooklyn would have helped his mom in the kitchen, watching her cook over the holidays for him and even Bucky. And so when the Avengers wanted to have a dinner, he knew what to make. Sarah’s sweet potato casserole would have been his favorite growing up, and so he’d want to share that with his friends.
The best part about Steve Rogers isn’t that he’s strong and brave, it is that he never loses what makes him special. At his core, he’s still that boy from Brooklyn who wanted to make his mother proud. Knowing that his friends would get to share this dish that he shared with his mom?
It’d mean the world to him and it’d help Bucky remember what it was like growing up with Steve. One of the best parts about the relationship between Bucky and Steve is that they always go back to their childhood together. When Bucky sees Steve again in Civil War, he brings up Sarah because he knew of her importance to Steve.
To be able to share her casserole with Steve again? That’d be a big deal to them, and the Avengers would probably think it was sweet. (And Tony would totally make fun of how old fashion Steve is).
