Queen of Air and Darkness – Cassandra Clare

After the events that occurred at the end of Lord of Shadows, fans of the Shadowhunter Chronicles have been dying to get their hands on the final book in The Dark Artifices series, Queen of Air and Darkness. With the Clave on the verge of civil war, Annabel Blackthorn on the loose, and the parabatai bond creating problems for Emma and Julian, the book is sure to be a wild ride.

And a wildly exciting book deserves a beautiful cover, which the powers that be seem to have granted Queen of Air and Darkness. The blue color scheme resembles the other two books in the series, giving the book the same “underwater” look. But Annabel brings a sharp contrast to the blue background, with her black hair and bright red dress — which is eerily reminiscent of blood.

Queen of Air and Darkness comes out Dec. 4, bringing an end to The Dark Artifices. If this ending is anything like Clare’s other finales, readers should definitely keep tissues on hand — although Clare’s Shadowhunter stories never really end, so fans are likely to see at least some of these characters again in the future.
