30 books that you can totally judge by their covers
Vengeful – V.E. Schwab
V.E. Schwab’s Vicious was released back in 2013, and fans have been awaiting its sequel ever since. When Vengeful finally arrived earlier this year, it was met with positive feedback from tons of readers. And with the release of Vengeful came new cover designs for both books in the series.
Though Vicious still depicts Victor Vale on its cover, Vengeful’s cover embraces the new female leads in the series — emphasizing Schwab’s shift from a tale centered almost entirely on toxic masculinity to a story where women play a more prominent and active role, including newcomers Marcella and June as well as Sydney making a return.
Of course, Victor’s longtime rivalry with Eli is still at the heart of the series. No matter how many new characters there are, Victor still has one goal in life: to make Eli pay for all that he’s done. They’re just no longer the only players in this game, making Vengeful even more exciting than its predecessor.
