J.K Rowling talks about a ‘new’ character we’re going to meet in Fantastic Beasts
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is coming out and J.K Rowling has one character that she’s excited to learn more about!
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, J.K Rowling talked about her work with Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and what it is like to be back writing for the Boy Who Lived. What is surprising about the interview is that Rowling talks about a new character we’re going to meet in the film.
The theory is that the character she’s referring to is Nagini, a controversial choice to make Nagini a woman rather than the treasured snake of Lord Voldemort. But maybe Rowling is referring to a different character.
"It’s been an amazing opportunity to tell parts of the backstory that never made it into the original books. I’m thinking particularly of one character that I think fans will be surprised to meet in this movie."
What seems promising though is that Rowling talks about exploring an aspect of the story that
she couldn’t during the series. Does that mean we may get a Marauders series still? Or does this Fantastic Beasts series only span through the beginning of the war and the relationship between Dumbledore and Grindelwald?
It’d be nice if after this movie, we focus a bit on the beginnings of Lord Voldemort and maybe even get a movie about the original Order of the Phoenix fighting against the Dark Lord and what happened to their families because of their choices.
We’ll have to wait and see what Rowling includes in the movie though but at least we know we’re going to different cities in every film!
