Regina George (Mean Girls)

To quote Regina herself, “Do not trust her.” Regina George is the ultimate mean girl as the Queen Bee of North Shore High School, and like Miranda Priestly, she can demolish a girl’s confidence and ruin their reputation without so much as lifting her perfectly manicured finger.

If you somehow don’t already know, Regina is from the movie Mean Girls and she is the most popular girl in school. She is head of the clique The Plastics, with her two minions Karen Smith and Gretchen Wieners. They have a very exclusive lunch table and very strict rules to adhere to in order to maintain their Plastic status: on Wednesdays they wear pink, they can only wear their hair in a ponytail one day a week, you can only wear jeans or track pants on Fridays, and absolutely no vests (because vests are disgusting).

The students of North Shore High are terrified of Regina because of her quiet, powerful demeanor. She doesn’t need to raise her voice or verbally bring someone down when she can do that psychologically or by spreading rumors about them. She told the entire school Janis Ian was a lesbian and she got bullied so viciously that she had to drop out of school, but Regina remained unscathed. It’s not until Cady Heron starts at North Shore after being homeschooled in Africa for years that someone tries to take Regina down, with the help of Janis and her “too gay to function” best friend Damian.

Regina is a mean person, seemingly for no reason. She likes to take down other girls so that she can feel good about herself. The fact that there is usually a Regina in every high school is why her character is so scary. She may seem like a nice girl, but you can’t always trust a pretty face. Watch out for Regina George.
