Poison Ivy (Batman & Robin)

Harley often has another sultry, powerful DC villain by her side in the comic books, and that is Poison Ivy.

Many people may be more familiar with the film version of Poison Ivy played by Uma Thurman in the 1997 film Batman & Robin. She also appears in the Batman comics and the Batman animated television show. She always has her trademark look: fiery red hair and a costume made mostly of leaves, because she is Poison Ivy, after all.

Before she was Poison Ivy, she was Pamela Isley, a renowned botanist in Gotham City. She becomes immune to the poisonous plants and other natural toxins after someone tries to poison her, and soon turns to a life of crime. She ends up being one of the world’s most dangerous eco-terrorists, using her knowledge of poisonous flora to take down her enemies.

In many renditions of her character, she is known to produce lethal toxins with her lips, so she can literally give the kiss of death. Do we even need any more reasons why she’s one of the best villains? Her biggest rival, as you can guess, is Batman. Much like the other supervillains in Gotham, Batman is the one person who always thwarts her plans, and she seeks her revenge on him.

Poison Ivy isn’t really a bad person. She was just put in a bad situation and did what she had to do to survive and protect her beloved plants. Just like Harley Quinn, she isn’t bad deep down, and she even has moments where she shows off a softer, more maternal side. But when she needs to defend herself, she does not play!
