Even though emotions were running high, the judges of Dancing with the Stars were loath to give out many perfect scores, but they did grant one.

Fitting the theme of Most Memorable Year Night, the opening number on this week’s Dancing with the Stars took a contemporary style and dropped in “Story of My Life” by One Direction. If that didn’t get you emotionally ready, then there’s not much that will.

But even with the feelings running high, the judges — and power rankings — must comment and rank, respectively. As always, these rankings are based on everything from scores, votes, and just wow factor.

However, Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli may have had plenty of praise for everyone, that didn’t necessarily translate to scores.

Eliminated: Nancy McKeon and Val Chmerkovskiy: 22

With a somewhat constrained floor and Lukas Graham singing, Nancy and Val had a very sweet rumba (as she was dancing to commemorate the “year our family was complete”), but there was some great content in there. At times, it seemed as though she wasn’t doing much dancing, but the contrast between stillness and movement also worked well with the song.

“You sustained every movement,” Carrie Ann praised, and that fluidity was beautiful. Len, however, called out her hip action — or lack thereof. It’s a shame to see her go.
