Legacies at NYCC: The Salvatore School is a family affair for many
First, it was the Vampire Diaries and then Originals, but now their families live on in Legacies. And there is already a love triangle and sibling rivalry.
Legacies brings to life the children we’ve come to meet from the Vampire Diaries franchise. Alaric Saltzman is back with his twin daughters as he is trying to help those children from supernatural families, despite his own safety.
With a screening of the first episode at New York Comic Con, the audience was given a glimpse into what season 1 of Legacies has in store for us. Landon, a friend of Hope Mikaelson of the human nature, is dragged into this world when his foster brother is revealed to be a werewolf.
Because Landon was there and witnessed what happened, he is brought to the school to have his memory erased by MJ the vampire — but it doesn’t work on Landon so he is forced to stay there overnight to try again the following day.
The problem is that Landon cannot be persuaded by the vampire because, as Alaric figures out by the end of the episode, he must be some kind of supernatural being himself. Typical of a pilot episode, it was us meeting the new characters we’d be going through this journey with an establishing the conflict between Hope and Landon.
The panel and fan Q&A featured the new cast along with Matthew Davis (who has starred as Ric Saltzman from the beginning). For fans of The Vampire Diaries, it is going to be a continuation of the world we know and love while also bringing back some of our favorites. (Julie Plec said we may even see a return of Jeremy!)
Legacies hits the CW this Oct. 25. If you want to know what school lived on in the legacy of Stefan and Damon, you won’t want to miss it!
