They might not all be great, but we’re definitely going to give them a look. These are the most buzzworthy Fall TV shows for 2018.

There is so much TV these days. Even if you aren’t a TV critic or write about television for a living, you can see how buried we are under all the shows airing right now. If that isn’t bad enough (or good, depending on how you look at it), folks, we’re in for a whole new round of shows.

In the world of television, networks get together at the start of important advertising seasons, usually just ahead of the next season roll-outs, and trot out all their new shows. They parade the series in front of advertisers, hoping to get as many on board as possible. This is how we know what will premiere in the fall, and why we have these trailers for shows that won’t air for months.

I’ve sifted through the upfront trailers and narrowed the list down to 25 (yes, there are hundreds more). Not every show on this list is good, as I’ve judged in the “long-term potential” section, but at least you’ll be informed when you sit down in front of your DVR this fall. Also, most of these opinions are based on my extensive experience sitting in front of a television, but my tastes have been known to be wrong in the past. So, I’ll gladly eat my words if a show does better than I predicted.

Either way, here’s a small little preview of what’s to come for the new TV season.
