Jordan Peele’s next horror film will star Lupita Nyong’o
Lupita Nyong’o shared the poster of Jordan Peele’s next horror film, “Us”, pretty much officially confirming that she’ll have a role in the movie.
This is not a question we ask often, but can it be March yet? Okay, we’ll even take December so as not to skip the holidays, but we really want it to be March. Here’s why: as of this morning, Lupita Nyong’o has tweeted out the poster to Jordan Peele’s Us, effectively confirming that yes, she’ll be in the film.
While reports started flying as soon as the film was announced that she’d be involved, this is the first time we’ve gotten official word from anyone involved.
Check out the tweet below. No, there’s no caption, just the poster. Hey, she knows how to drop an announcement of this size and caliber.
That same report, linked above, also attaches Elisabeth Moss of The Handmaid’s Tale and Mad Men fame as well as everyone’s current major Marvel crush, Winston Duke to the project. Honestly, we were pretty much sold as soon as we heard about these three, and if Nyong’o’s set, can the other two be far behind?
Hopefully not.
Although Get Out didn’t win as much acclaim as it really should have during awards season, perhaps the combined star power of Moss, who has a lot of hardware between Mad Men and The Handmaid’s Tale, and Nyong’o, who, as THR notes, has an Oscar (and also other awards), can really boost the profile of Us and even horror as a genre.

Even if it doesn’t win awards, though, it seems as though Us will have a strong cast and, well, as the poster itself notes, the “mind of Jordan Peele.” Put this one on your cinematic calendar for next March, and join the wait with us, won’t you?
