Everything you need to know about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway
By Callum Gunn
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child opens on Broadway today and it’s time to gather together all the information you need about the stage production.
When J.K. Rowling promised seven books and she’d be done, we all knew that wasn’t going to be the case, right? Harry Potter has been a phenomenal success, spawning into movies, getting its own dedicated site, and so much more. Now it’s all about the spin-off stage production that’s previewing on Broadway now.
Yes, it’s all about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. This production was originally written by Jack Thorne, with Rowling and Cursed Child director, John Tiffany, working with him. Set 19 years into the future from the last novel, the story is about Harry Potter’s middle child, Albus Severus Potter.

Conceived from a “how would” idea, as Thorne considered how Harry Potter would handle fatherhood considering he had been a severely abused orphan with high expectations of him in the magical world, the production quickly took off in London’s West End. Now it’s time to look at what to expect in Broadway.
