Olympics 2018: A ranking of all of Johnny Weir’s looks, from worst to best
12. The one with the very confusing accessory
Almost everything about this look is great — the high collar of the shirt included, since it alludes to some historical styles without looking dated — but then you get to what’s wrapped around the high collar, and it all just becomes very confusing.
To be fair, fashion is not always the most accessible thing out there, but when the piece in question looks kind of like a golden hair dryer (or maybe a hand vacuum … maybe just a small hand appliance in general) one has to wonder if, sometimes, fashion just goes too far. At least his accessory game isn’t completely off. Those rings on his hand are great.
11. The white-and-pink ensemble
Looking through all of the outfits, almost all of them have one color in common: black. This is one of the few exceptions, where even his boots are white instead of black. Those boots are almost certainly also the best part of the outfit. Look at them! They’re immaculate, although they’re a bit more white than the creamier pants and blazer.
So, in that sense, it’s quite refreshing, but also almost doesn’t fit with the rest of the looks here. If this were a fashion collection, this would be the surprise look about midway through. And fittingly enough, this is about a mid-Olympics look.
