Avengers 4: Is Bucky Barnes going to become Captain America?

You know how Sebastian Stan plays Bucky Barnes? Well, what if he took over the mantel of Captain America? The actor is down for that to happen!

As many of us know, Sebastian Stan plays Bucky Barnes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Captain America’s childhood best friend, he is finally starting to remember who he was before Hydra brainwashed him. But what many MCU fans don’t know is that, in the comics, Bucky becomes Captain America after Steve Rogers.

And it seems as if Sebastian Stan is down for that to happen in the movies as well. At a panel at Wizard World St. Louis, Sebastian expressed his interest in taking on the role someday. Currently, Chris Evans is still our Steve Rogers but as many fans know, his contract with Marvel is up after Avengers 4. So where does that leave Captain America?

Well, to be honest, I think that means that our Steve Rogers is going to die. And the fact that Sebastian Stan has (at minimum) four more movies as part of his deal, it is pretty likely that the role is going to go to him.

At the same time though, Anthony Mackie as Falcon can also take on the role (as it happens that way in the comics as well) so it is really anyone’s game. The deciding factor is probably going to be who has more movies as part of their deal, if we’re being honest.

Yes, those in charge probably have a plan but I honestly think that the reason behind Sebastian Stan saying he’d love to take on Captain America is because that’s what is going to happen. Again, he still has at least four movies in his contract and Mackie’s deal isn’t exactly clear.

Either way, I’m excited because Bucky Barnes is my favorite character in the MCU. But we’ll just have to see what happens.
